   Located in south central Pennsylvania, Mifflin County encompasses 431 square miles, or 275,840 acres. With a population of 46,486 for Mifflin County.  Much of the county is mountainous with picturesque, agriculturally rich valleys nestled between the forested areas. The small town of Lewistown is the county seat with a population of 8,998.

Opportunities for outdoor recreation abound, and the county is a haven for hunters and fishermen.  We offer several community parks; some with swimming, tenting, picnicking, pavilions and biking. We are home to Reed's Gap State Park along Honey Creek near Milroy. Greenwood Furnace State Park is a 423 acre paradise including a six-acre lake.  The Locust campground offers riverside camping with wonderful amenities.  

The Lewistown Country Club is an 18-hole course with a beautiful two-story club house, complete with grillroom, bar, pro shop, full banquet facilities and panoramic views.
